So, the monday after my last post I got laid off from my job. Apparently due to poor management at the job site I had been working at, and my employer's lack of new work, two people had to laid off for an undetermined amount of time. I was one of the two. I was pretty aggravated by losing my job for a while, but I decided it may be a blessing, if not just to me, but to my parents as well, in disguise. In the two weeks i've been off work I've been able to work at the new house for my parents during the day, and I've been able to more proactively look for jobs and the like. Oh, and i've been able to sleep in till 7. that's kinda nice too.
Even though there have been a few good things that have come out of being laid off, the fact is that I'd much rather be working, so if you could pray for me.  Not so much that I can go back to my old job, but that my applications to LGH would go through in a timely manor and I could get a job there, it would be much appreciated.

Sheesh, over two months since I posted last. I don't get to see or talk to most of you that read my xanga as much as I'd like to these days, so I'll make this long overdue post as informative as possible.

The past two, nearly three, months have been very good. Very busy, but very good.
I've decided that I will not be staying with my original post-high plans of a career in the trades but am going to persue  nursing instead. Things are going more slowly than I'd like, but I'm really excited to get into the medical feild. I just wish I would have decided to go into nursing long before now. My plan is to get a job at a hospital, hopefully Lancaster General, as an ER Tech so I can use and advance my training as an EMT. I'm also looking for a job there because they will pay for my entire schooling.
My unltimate goal in my new endevour is to use my nurse training to further my EMS work. My plan is to go to school and get my RN and bachelors degree in nursing and then get my PHRN(pre hospital registered nurse) so that I can ,at very least, run a Mobile Intensive Care Unit, and hopefully Life Lion somewhere down the road.
In other news: work is alright. I'm a little discontent, though, mostly just because I know that I want to be doing something else (nursing school/I want to be working in the hospital now). The only real complaint I have is that I'm working in Shippensburg and I have a total of 4 hours of drive time everyday. I get up between 4:15 and 4:30 AM and only get home between 5:30 and 6 PM. My work schedule doesn't make it easy to do much in the evenings. Yep, so that's my work report.
Aside from work, putting in applications to hospitals, and looking into schools, I've been working at the new house, spending time with Daniela, running one shift a week at the station, and hanging out with friends when i can. We're planning on moving into the new house Dec. 17. I'm finally getting excited about moving. I can't wait to move away from the noise of the highway and into a nice quiet neighborhood. Once we finally do move, I'll probably be able to start going to sports night again. I really miss seeing everyone and going to friendly's afterwards.
So that's  a very short version of what has been going on in the past few months. I don't feel like re-reading what I wrote, so if something isn't coherent, I appologize, but it's late. lol.

Today, well, it's after midnight, so technically yesterday, I turned 18. I think it was the first birthday I've had that instilled me with some sort of instantaneous sense of being older than I was the day before. I'm not exactly sure why, but it did. Maybe it's a culmination of a lot of things that I can't put my finger on, but for what ever reason, I feel older. Kinda like that feeling when you turn 10, only... older...  I declined having a party, but I made up for it by doing other things to celebrate. One of which was getting my ear pierced

"Yeah, that's right, I may look exactly like a girl, but I'm actually a guy. Try and fight me, I dare you..."

So, I keep saying I'm going to write a real post sometime soon. Well, that time has not yet come. But it will probably happen saturday. Till then, I think my new found ability to post photos will re-spark my interest in xanga.
